Engage is a regional conference for everyone who is serious about impacting our world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. As the church, we have some critical choices we need to make regarding how we relate to the world we live in. We can avoid the world and retreat into our church 'safe-houses'. We can mimic the culture around us, hoping to entreat some who are seeking spiritual things to join our Christian clubs. Or we can engage our culture, connecting with the very people that we often pass by, bringing transformation to the world with the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. The kingdom of God is ready to advance; will you join the army of love that will take the message of redemption to a broken and disconnected generation?

We are extremely excited about engage 10! We have an outstanding line up of speakers who have tremendous experience leading churches and ministering world wide. Paul Reid brings a fresh perspective from Northern Ireland and is incredibly engaging. Tim Stevens will speak from experience about connecting with today's pop culture based on his experiences with Granger Community Church just east of South Bend. Joel Brooks brings a very practical perspective on the Kingdom of God from Kalamazoo's Christian Life Center church. We are also very excited to welcome Pastor Duane Vander Klok from the thriving Resurrection Life church in Grand Rapids.

This is not a theoretical conference. Our prayer is that we will all be stirred by the Holy Spirit to be effective in engaging the culture we live in with the gospel of Christ. There is a generation waiting for the church to connect with them, to speak their lingo, and to love them as Christ loved the church. Will we answer the call? People all around us are dependant on that.

Paul Reid

Paul & Priscilla Reid started a small house church in 1981 which eventually became Christian Fellowship Church Belfast Ireland. He still leads the church until transitioning the leadership to Andy McCourt in January 2011. He helps other churches throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA as they seek to build healthy life giving communities. He and Priscilla generally travel and minister together in their commitment to modeling out men and women working in tandem which they believe will bring greater release to the Body of Christ. Tim Stevens

For 13 years, Tim's leadership has helped Granger connect with people who think church is irrelevant. He has done this through the creative blending of architecture, strategy and technology. He's acutely tuned in to popular culture and is instrumental in balancing operations, building creative teams and inspiring artists to brand each message series and sharpen the weekend experience. His newest book Pop Goes the Church was released in early 2008. He's also co-authored the Simply Strategic book series using humor and practical principles to equip churches and ministry leaders. Joel Brooks

Pastor Joel brooks is a nationally known speaker, author, and the Senior Pastor of Christian Life Center, a dynamic, 2,100 member, multi-cultural church located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with a new, additional location in Grand Rapids, MI. He is also the founder of Romantic Warrior Ministries. Pastor Brooks places an emphasis on men taking the leadership role for which God created them, takes a strong stand for racial reconciliation and unity, and targets young adults, challenging them to mature and to accept responsibility.

Pastor Brooks is a featured author of a chapter in Dr. Edwin Louis Coles' book entitled, Man Power. He has also co-authored a book entitled What Women Don't Know (And Men Don't Tell You) which speaks to the heart of women and brings value and fatherhood to women in a world where self-dignity and respect is often lost. Most recently, Pastor Brooks was a featured writer with the Kalamazoo Gazette, a local newspaper, for a bi-weekly column titled 'Practical Answers to Today's Questions.' His television broadcast Transformed is viewed nationally and internationally and has had a dramatic impact in West Michigan and beyond for over 20 years.

Meals are not provided at the engage conference. Refreshments are provided during breaks, including water, coffee, fruit, and snacks. In addition, each conference attendee gets 1 coupon for a specialty drink from the Grace cafe. Specialty drinks include smoothies, lattes and energy drinks.
